July 26, 2002, Chester, NJ … Noted golf technology expert Frank Thomas will deliver a keynote address in Sydney, Australia at the largest golf merchandise show in the southern hemisphere, during the PGA of Australia Merchandise Show Education Convention from August 12-14, which will culminate in a "Technology and The Game" debate.
Thomas will be joined in the debate by Scott Hennessey, President of True Temper and Wayne Grady, chairman of the Australasian PGA Tour Board, to express views on where technology is headed and what needs to be done, if anything, to limit the effect of technology on the game of golf. Golf journalist, Michael Court, will moderate the session.
Some of the key issues Thomas is expected to address in his presentations include the spring-like effect and having two sets of rules for the game, the health of the game worldwide and the direction that technology is taking golf. Thomas also will explore the advances and limitations in golf club and ball design and performance. He will also examine future improvements due to playing skill, course maintenance practices and physical fitness.
