About your Hybrids

Introduction

I would like to thank our Frankly Friends who have again helped us identify the hybrids they use and how they rated them. This in turn fulfills our mission which is to Help Golfers. We have also found out which clubs have been replaced by the Hybrid(s) and the reasons for selecting a hybrid.

Respondent Profile

Our Frankly Friends profile looks like this:
Handicap range from 0 to 25+ with the majority (72%) between 6 and 20 handicap;   95% are males;  and  91% play more than 21 days in the year.

About your Hybrids :

Clubs replaced by Hybrids

The clubs being replaced are similar across the handicap spectrum with the 3-iron being generally the first club to be replaced.  Some 20.3% of the 25+ handicappers found a 2-iron in their bag and replaced it with a hybrid. None of us should be carrying a 2-iron unless we qualified for the U S Open.

Hybrid lofts
93% of hybrids carried by our Friends are between 16°and 26°
19 ° is the most popular hybrid

Factors which influence golfers to buy a hybrid:

Brand Usage and Satisfaction

The tables below identify the most popular hybrids carried by our Frankly Friends and how they rate this brand. They were asked to rate each hybrid they carried, so we present 3 tables here detailing the results of usage and satisfaction rating.

The number in the column marked "%*****" represents the percentage of users of that brand who give it a five star rating. If there were less than 10 users the satisfaction rating was not calculated.

Concluding Comments:

TaylorMade have a significant market share of hybrids which is understandable based on the fact that it was one of the forerunners in introducing the hybrid in mass production. The percentage of five star satisfaction ratings is influenced by the number of respondents. If for example only two people have a particular hybrid and only one gives it a five star rating the satisfaction rating is 50%. For this reason we only included a rating when there are more than 10 hybrids being rated.

We also believe that getting the opinions of our Frankly Friends who have purchased and used the club is the best way to determine how “good” it is. Good in this case is not only how many buy the product but how satisfied they are once they have used it for some time.

Thank you again to our Frankly Friends who responded. We will let you know when our next survey becomes available. Be sure to check out our upcoming Frankly Friends Newsletter which will be online in a few days!
